What is ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 Compliance?

by Sean Aucamp 02 May 2024

The ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 standard outlines essential criteria for “minimum design, performance, and labeling requirements for solutions aimed at reducing incidents involving dropped objects in industrial and occupational environments.”

Developed by the International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA), an ANSI-accredited standards development organisation, the U.S. national standard ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 is overseen by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), which manages standards and conformity assessment activities within the United States.

Choosing products that conform to the ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 standard enhances confidence in product performance when working at heights, compared to those lacking this standard.

This standard establishes minimum requirements concerning anchor attachments, tool attachments, tool tethers, and containers utilised to prevent dropped objects in the workplace.

At GRIPPS® we strongly advocate selecting products that adhere to this widely recognised standard whenever feasible. We follow a rigorous testing and quality assurance/control protocol, and where applicable, ensure our products are ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 compliant.
